Which AI assistants work with Temporalist?

Any MCP client. Claude (web, desktop, mobile and Claude Code), ChatGPT and OpenAI Codex, Kimi Code, OpenCode, Cursor and every other tool that speaks the Model Context Protocol can connect to https://temporal.ist/mcp.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Temporalist is a remote MCP server — web clients connect with a URL, CLI clients with one command. You sign in with the same OAuth login as the dashboard; there is nothing to download or self-host.

Is it safe to let an AI near my invoices?

Destructive things are two-step by design: deleting an entry or emailing an invoice first returns a preview, and only happens after an explicit confirmation. Read-only API keys exist for reporting-only setups, access is revocable at any time, and every AI-created session is labeled so you can always see what came from an assistant.

Is this automatic time tracking or manual time logging?

Both. The desktop app and browser extension track automatically from file changes and URLs — no screenshots, ever. The AI connection adds the missing half: logging hours after the fact, fixing entries, answering “where did my week go?”, and turning tracked time into invoices.

What plan do I need?

The MCP connection is part of Temporalist Pro. One subscription covers every assistant you connect — there is no per-client fee.

What kind of phrases can I use?

Plain language. “Create a project called Dunder Mifflin and start a timer.” “Add 3 hours yesterday, researching deployment.” “How much time did I spend this week?” “Stop the timer.” “Invoice all July work and send it.” Project names are fuzzy-matched, so typos are fine.
